13 Hours On The Highway
B. Sheffield - Copyright 2004 - (from the album) Hearing Things
13 Hours on the highway,
For three days straight in a row.
Driving long distance for the union man,
I've got a hundred and twenty miles left to go.
Wasted, worn down and weary,
Of this highway vigil I keep.
I've traveled this road now so many times,
I believe I could drive it in my sleep.
I do believe that I could drive it in my sleep.
Last night I had a vision.
It came right down from the sky.
A beautiful lady, with long black hair,
And she disappeared right before my eyes.
She disappeared right there before my eyes.
13 hours on the highway,
And in by ten if I try.
Sometimes I feel life is nothing more
Than a sign on the highway passing by.
It's just a sign on the highway passing by.
